SERVICES FOR MILITARY MEMBERS AND VETERANS

Dr. Erickson is dedicated to improving the health of service members, veterans, and families who are affected by combat and deployment–related stress. Through her work at the VA and through private practice, Dr. Erickson has experience providing psychotherapy to service members from all war eras, especially those who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. She is knowledgeable about the unique challenges that military members face when they return from war zones as well as the difficulties that can arise when transitioning from military to civilian life.

Dr. Erickson has had the honor of successfully treating many active-duty military members, reservists, veterans, retirees, and family members who struggle with a variety of personal difficulties, especially moving past traumatic combat experiences and/or military sexual assault traumas. A primary focus of her work has been the treatment of PTSD, often co-occurring with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and chronic pain. Among her areas of expertise is evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), including Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
